Vampires from his book series are day walkers; their eyes never adjust to sunlight, so they must wear sunglasses; without some sunscreen, they can get ill in the sunlight, or it will slowly weaken them if they aren't well fed. The ways to kill a vampire are beheading or burning alive; depending on the age, it could take both.
